Question This Wide Band, Any good?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Innov...ayphotohosting

Looking to get a good one. I dont have a laptop to log or anything. I want a gauge that tells me what I need to know. Do you know of a better place/price?

I would encourage you to plod around Innovate's web site, and after you've done that, call them up and talk with someone and describe what you need and what you're after. You will want to make sure you are getting the right tool for your needs. You could end up with the LM-1 instead....I would certainly check into it, it looks more flexible, especially for the price.

Regardless, check the dealer's list for vendors and prices. That EBay auction is selling that particular unit at MSRP, I'm sure you could do better.

Why don't you get a laptop and EFILive or HPTuners? That way you have complete control over everything having to do with your truck. You're going to be messing with it, right? Why pay someone every time you want to change something or tweak your tune?

If you do end up going this route, with tuning software, all you need for A/F is the LC-1 wideband for $199 and you can plug that input into your EFI or HPT interface. Then you can log A/F when you're logging everything else.

I have the LC-1 for the purpose stated above. I'll be purchasing HPT within the next month. I got a sales flyer in the other day for the LM-1 for just $50 more than the LC-1. You can use the LM-1 with the "aux box" to connect to 5 other sensors so you can data log with the wide band(need a laptop for that). that cost more of course. You have to tap into your harness and hard wire the aux box though. I'd pay the extra pennies for the HPT with the inhanced interface so you can tune, log, etc without having to hack up your harness. The tuning alone is worth the extra money. you can get an old laptop off ebay that will run the HPT/EFI live for really cheap. The battery may not be good but you can get a $20 ac-dc inverter and just keep it plugged into your cig lighter.

I have the LM-1 with the RPM device. It logs up to 6 events at the same time and can display it on a graph, but you need a pc or laptop.

I love it.

I log boost, rpm's, A/F and have done tests with MAP, etc.

I'm sure the LC-1 is just as good, for its own purpose.

Well I dont mind getting a laptop if I need to. Here is what I want to be able to do, go out and do some part throttle and full throttle runs and see my AFR after each. Pretty much like a dyno run minus the dyno. I want to make sure I'm not climbing into the lean range when I start adding boost. I dont want to drive 3 hours and spend all day on a dyno just to do a pulley swap. I checked out HP Tuners website, very un-user friendly with explanations. I guess I get two cars for about 500 bucks. I dont know what all this 1 bar, 2 bar, IO, blah blah stuff is so I dont know if I should spend more to get them. I want an AF gauge that is accurate and a program that will let me see my afr throughout the run. What do I need?

Thats a good kit , the one I got. I like the new gauges. Works well and fits well. That will do pretty much what you want/need it to do. It comes with a program that you can run on a laptop. Plus it will work together with EFILive or HPT. It is seemless with EFILive7 on my laptop.

It sounds like the LM-1 will be the cheapest way to do what you want.

What does the LC-1 do that the LM-1 does not?

If you just want to record your A/F, then the LC-1 with the XD-1 will suffice.

That means you have to watch your boost and rpm's and try to figure where the A/F was at that time.

The LM-1 with the LMA-2 will allow you to record your A/F, RPM's and any other sensor. I got ahold of a boost sensor, so my graph shows all three at the same time.

This setup can record up to 6 things at the same time on the same graph.

It's the other way around, actually. The LM-1 has many features that the LC-1 does not.
