I ran across a intercooled whipple super charged suburan with the 496ci
(8100) and the 4L80E trans.

I was wondering if any of you have ever dynoed on. I googled it and whipple said it was 425hp and 800lbtq at the crank.. those numbers seem a little strange.

If I remember right a properly tuned one should make 400whp 600wtq.

 

Yeah, thats about right except i didnt make that kind of torque at the rear wheel. Mine was right around 403rwhp and 512rwtq with the 5lb pulley and the intercooler. I am at about 6.25lbs now so i figure im about 420/530 now maybe. Of course this is with drop in injectors and no whipple electronics.

Wonder how much that allison take up vs the 4L80E in the burbans.. They got that because the alley would not fit.

 

It took 470whp 618wtq to get my old truck to run 13.57 et.

 

WHAT!!! Are you serious? Maybe i am making more than i thought or I had some really bad runs on the dyno cause i ran a 13.54. Or maybe something was wrong with the clock at the track....but i will not accept that as a possibility.... LOL

Yes wheel hp. A freind and I had a good HP test. He had a DMax truck just like mine. He made 470whp and 850wtq and went a 13.56! LOL

 

hey tie rod, they have whipple on e bay for $2500! you need that and a turbo!
