It all depends on your comfort level. It's going to be much more difficult than a brake pad change I can tell you, but it's not that bad. Is your truck a flex fuel? I can't remember when the first year was. If your truck isn't, it will save you some time because your supercharger/intake will come pre-assembled and you won't need to install injectors. There are some bits of the manual that are a little vauge. You will need to cut your grille/hood latch bracket. There is NO explanation of this but it obviously needs to be done to mount the H/E.

I would suggest enlisting the help of an experienced shade-tree buddy, you'll need the help to install the supercharger on the engine. Also, make sure you've got a good set of tools (metric as well) and TAKE YOUR TIME.

Lastly, before you begin, make sure you can upload the Whipple tune from the super chips hand held. I had an issue with my flash and it took a few days to resolve.

Edit: if you already have plans to get it tuned, and you are going to up the boost as you said, I would HIGHLY suggest putting bigger injectors in before you mount it. They are a pain to change in place. The manifold bolts are difficult to tighten because they are hex head (female) and pretty deep in between the fuel rail and the head unit. You will need to have it tuned right away for the new injectors though. Whipple won't change the tune for you (I guess it's worth asking though).

Also, if you are going to do an SD tune, you will need a 2bar MAP sensor(check around to see which one will work). They are mounted at the back of the lower intake manifold and are also a major pain to change out while the unit is in place. You basically need to change out the sensor blind. Ask me how I know these things.
