I was gonna mention the SyTy Shuffle.....then I realized it was a Denali, and I'm pretty sure those have hydroboost.....

What they all already said.....torque converter.

Wrap the exhaust from the manifolds to the turbo with header wrap, A turbo blanket, a smaller A/R exhaust housing on the turbo, I wouldn't running anything bigger then a .81 on a stock cubed motor (I run a .68 on my 4.8). Any thing you can do to keep heat in the exhaust will help spool up. Hotlop the truck. My truck runs faster and builds more boost when everything is good and hot then when its cold. A stall will defiantly help too. The more boost you can make on the line, the higher it will stall. I have a reman DACCO TB stall that stall about 22-2400 rpm without boost and have pushed it to a little over 3000 rpm brake stalling it on the line. I've had 10 psi launch once when I was out screwing around and after making a 0-100 mph run in low boost and then stopping and doing a break stall launch in high boost, because there was so much heat in the exhaust.

start launching under boost on a stock trans and your next post will be "Where can I get a built 65-e?"

well i have already rebuilt the tranny once, not fun. I was at my local track last night and the best runs were the ones after the turbo was heated up which was a pain to do due to how they ran everyone through once and moved onto the next group.

I want to try to stay away from torque converters just because this is a daily driver and this thing is also awd so line locks are out, the brakes hold it in place.

Thanks for the input everyone

I have a 2600 torque converter for my daily driver and have no problems. The only differance is when I am at a stop light and take my foot off the brake it won't creep foward.
