Default What turbo should I get?

I am building an engine(see link below) and need advice on what turbo to get. I currently have the STS kit with the stock 60-1 but now that the engine is being replaced by a bigger built engine I want to replace it. The new engine will have a 8.5:1 compression so I want to crank the boost to 15-18lbs and need the correct size turbo. I was told that the Garratt GT76 would be a good choice. What turbo do you guys think would be best for my app and why? Thanks for any help you can give me and here is the link to the engine. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=363666

My GT67 was awesome on 6.0L but I didn't run it that high. I took it to 12psi and it felt like it had more, but I doubt 18psi. I'd say a GT70 like what I'm running now -- should spool in the low 3000s. A GT76 would be my second choice depending on where it would spool.

I'd talk to Rick at STS as well.

Dave at STS suggested the GT76 but I rather have one a bit smaller that will spool quicker.

When you talk to Dave again, tell him I said he's a pansy

Yeah, when I built the 408 we talked about the GT76 but wanted to try the 70 first for spooling reasons. It did fine on the dyno before I set everything on fire... If I ever get back to the dyno I can get some better figures on it.

Are you happy with the 70 or are you going to up it to the 76?

I would suggest a 76mm. I have a 67 on my 4.8 and I might be looking to get a 70mm for it. You should be fine spoolin wise with a 76mm.

I guess if the GT76 doesn't spool up as fast as I want I can just give it the 100 shot of nitrous, lol.

To small to make power at 18psi on such a engine. 76 would be the correct turbo to use. If it does not have lag then its probibly on the small side.
