I run ls9 gaskets and ARP's on mine. I've ran alot of 15-17psi runs, one at 20-21 and haven't pushed a drop. Stock gaskets and stock bolts made it till about 17-18psi and started to push. Ow, and this is on a little 4.8L (617HP at 15psi)

At 8lbs, ARP head studs are an unnecessary luxury. People run 10-12lbs all day long on OEM head bolts without a hitch. At about $60 per set, you'll have to change them over 4 times before you break even on what ARP's cost.

IF you are planning to run high $$$ heads down the road, build a forged motor and/or run on the ragged edge with timing/fuel, then ARP's would be a prudent purchase.

That said, I bought ARP's studs for my last build so I can have the option of turning up the boost down the road. What year is your donor block? 1999-early 2004 blocks require the ARP #234-4316 (long) stud kit. Late 2004-2006blocks require the ARP# 234-4317 (short) stud kit.

x2 for rick

yeah i put OEM bolts in mine 10lbs....just because at this point i am not looking at having a race motor that I would need to drop alot more money $$$ than i already have. 10lbs DD OEM will work with the OEM MLS gasket.

Unless you have a hard on for ARP you dont need them.
