Default what a bummer...gt67 took a dump.. suggestions?

Well, we've been working on my 01 silverado for 1.5 years now. DB Rods got it running and did A LOT of work to the truck. I picked it up last week and realized I had the comp 918 springs with the blue stripe. Comp customer service was great and replaced the springs. So I took the truck back with 100 miles on it and Jon @ DB Rods replaced the springs. Well I picked up the truck today and was cruising along when I heard a weird noise @ throttle. So I pulled over and the shafts on both side of the turbo have play. Granted, this turbo hadn't seen boost since I got the truck back (breaking in a new rebuilt 5.3) I'm not sure what caused that or if it was just assembled wrong @ the manufacture...so now I'm looking for another turbo...any suggestions? My current setup is:

5.3 rebuilt with 150 miles
STS w/ gt67 upgrade
comp cam 214/218??
comp pushrods, valvesprings
ARP head bolts
ARP Rod Bolts
AVC-R boost controller
Intercooler
STS meth kit
42lb inj
255 walbro inline
FLT level 5 4L65E
Eaton Posi
Nelson Tune (safe tune until I break the motor in and take it down to him for a street tune)
34" radiator and E fans from an 05 truck
6 piston corvette brakes w/ 14" rotors front
4 piston corvette brakes w/ 14" rotors rear

Pics of the truck (in progress)

Are you sure the play in the turbo shaft is not normal. Mine has always had some play. The STS will make some weird sounds and I thought mine was rubbing at one time but it was fine. It was probably just compressor surge. I really thought mine was rubbing on the housing but it was fine. Check the compressor housing and see if the wheel is rubbing on it. If not it might just be a normal sound. Give STS a call, they will be glad to help you figure out if it is a problem or not.

Waiting on some finished pics.

both turbines are clanking around and spin independent of eachother. I don't know much about the actual turbos but I don't think they are supposed to make that sound. no more turbo wine when spooling.

I think you'd spool a little faster moving it as a low mount turbo and you definately have to do the 4 link. That way you can spank Jon and show him FI is where its at

Seems like my truck doesn't want to leave that shop after a year and a half. I know everyone at the shop is ready to see it gone.

The truck started off as my work truck with a 4.8. I put a lot of miles on it in a year (close to 44k) so I found a remanufactured 5.3 for it. My wife got me the STS turbo kit as a gift. The turbo sat for a year and a half in the garage. I brought the truck to DB rods to get bagged and the 5.3 swapped into it. I was supposed to sell the turbo cause it wasn't fitting in with the "work truck" theme (like bagging it was). I ended up having the turbo installed anyways. So one thing led to another while it was at the shop. I found this site and bought a bunch of parts off the sponsor from here (flt tranny, nelson tune, etc) I saw a z06 with the corvette brakes and said,"hey we can do that". John made the brackets to fit a powerslot rotor. He mentioned that since I'm redoing everything, might as well powdercoat the the frame....so here we are a year and a half later
