Vented or vacuum catch can
#32
guys how would u run a catch can that is not vented? mine runs form driverside to can, thin to manifold. Been like this for a while and it works. My passenger side goes to TB. Noticed oil inside intake the other day from how i had this ran. How would i do this setup with forced induction? Passenger side to after turbo filter and just run a passenger side filter above oil cap?

I don't think you need to vent the valve cover to the turbo inlet. You would if the fumes bother you, but the fumes would only come out in boost. If you run the valve cover to the turbo inlet you risk getting oil into the turbo, charge pipes, and MAF sensor. You could run another catch can in line, but catch cans don't stop everything.

ok well how about this. just plug off passenger valve cover and run a breather oil cap? But the other side valve cover will not be vented. Would the oil cap breather be enough by it self?

This is my plan. Blowby from one bank will have no issue getting to the other bank.

On this setup are you just capping the rear passenger valve cover port? Would there be a benefit in running it into the can along with the driver's valve cover via a T-Fitting?
Also, follow up question. Is the check valve on the catch can filter neccesary in a speed density setup?

Some of you guys are trying to re-invemt the wheel here. I have my passenger side valve cover capped off and a vented catch can on my driver side valve cover. I get no fumes in the cab, and I have had no oil collect in my catch can in the last 3000 miles. I'm in boost quite a bit. Venting just one side should be sufficient in most applications here
