valve float??

How do you know if you are getting valve float? Sometimes at a full throttle downshift I can hear the radix in boost the rpm's are high as **** but it just feels like it is taking forever at part throttle downshifts the engine is far more responsive and pulls like crazy. I am wondering if i am getting valve float and I losing boost through the exhaust side? What do you guy's think? anyone experience this? Do I just need some better valve springs?

You will lose power when your floating the valves. What is your redline set at??? If it isn't over 6200 I doubt you are floating the valves unless you have a ton of miles on yours..

I am mostly feeling it around 6000 rpm. Is it maybe p0wer falls off just before that and 4000 rpm's has gobs of power? whan I had the stock pulley i did not have this problem but when I went to the 2.8 I noticed it. I am hearing a fluttering sound like if there were old dried up leafs in a cardboard box bouncing around. this is the best way i can describe it. I thought i may be getting detonation but I did a plug reading before going to the tr6 and they looked just fine. Do you think valve springs would be a good investment and maybe some 1.8 rockers??

Is your belt slipping? The ls7 lifters are the same as stock, the caddilac lifters are the improved version, FWIW. Springs would be a good investment, and get you ready for the cam of your choice.

not sure about slippage but I did throw a belt a week ago and it was shredded. about a month after switching to the 2.8 pulley. I am getting the metco 100mm idlers and the new tensioner pulley from magnacharger. hope that helps.
