Default Twin Turbo Choice.

I've got two Borg GM4 turbo's from the 6.5TD's from the mid-90's.

I was wondering if they were too small for a mild twin turbo setup or are they too restrictive for an LQ4?

I plan on running a cam and ported heads, done by myself, but don't plan on making more than 400-450HP but would love TT's.

I'm probably best going with one large turbo, but would love to make use of these things.

I used one on a B16a in a 95 Hatchback and it spooled at 3000 rpms..I think they are a T3 with a 57/61 or close..I would run them..should spool quick..could always change them later..I think the link is the same turbo

Thanks RibeiroBJJ!

These are some rough specs calculated by the 6.5TD guys. These are for the GM8 turbo, which is more efficient but not a significant change enough to upgrade over my GM4's.

Gm-8

Compressor
Inducer: 53mm
Exducer: 75mm
Trim: 50
blades: 6
A/R:

Turbine
Inducer: 62mm
Exducer: 52mm
blades: 12
A/R: About 0.56, which is around 9cm^2 cross section area housing
So it sounds like it will work great for a potential twin turbo swap

I just want boost but with around town, low speed spool up for around town driving and potential towing. I don't want huge peak HP and TQ numbers.

The only update is that I've put new seals in my 2 turbo's and painted them in high temp ceramic spray paint.

Once I finish my DD project, I might actually have to the time to pull the truck apart and start mocking stuff up....

Thats months down the road, cuz I also have my K5 Jimmy taking up space in my parents backyard, that they probably won't like me keeping it there any longer.
