After 24 psi and 1,300 hp, what does it take to break a 5.3L?

I saw this @ bookstore a lil while back. I went there yesterday to find Truckin, for this very article.

U a subscriber or was it on their website? Cause I never got to check if it was on web yet. Esp. since I thought it was still out.




I also thought Roger told me it was actually a 4.8 when him & I talked bout this article when I discovered it before.

Didn't hot rod or Gm mag do the same thing months back?

Looks like you didn't read the article, John! Wish they would have found its break point though. I feel like valve float is a bad place to stop testing...

All that and they stopped because of a failed lifter....replace that thing and run 30psi!

Not sure John, I don't read the rags like I used to. Just got to be to expensive @ $5-6 an issue, regardless of what mag, on the stands.

Thanks for re-clarifying the 4.8 part, o2camaross.

I think hotrod and it was on a 4.8 (they originally thought it was a 5.3)

They don't mention it, but I'm curious if those are stock rockers (versus modded ones). Trickflows require roller rockers.
