So im fairly new to this whole forum thing so i figured i'd give it a shot.
i got an 02 gmc sierra with a 5.3 and im planning on putting a 6.0 or LS7 in it. Im really looking to put a turbo on whichever motor i buy for mild performace gains.
my question for you guys is:
can i equip those motors and still have an engine that runs for a long time?
what would i need to modify to make a stock 6.0 or LS7 run good with a turbo?
Any info would help alot, thanks

w/ good tune she will last a long time. why not just throw a turbo on the 5.3? unless it has lots of miles on it, they make great power. your need more fuel as in inj. and pump. size will depend on power your looking for. would recommend good sd tune. turbo cam and valve springs. beefy tranny will help too.

The motor has been over heated numerous times by the previous owner, it has 130k on it. also i can find a great deal for a 6.0
what type of cam and valespring are we talking here?
the tranny is getting rebuilt in a couple of months so no worries there.

Well the gmc is my only personal truck for now til i buy a diesel, so im planning on buying a 6.0 and building it for a turbo and then ill put it in my truck when it done. i'd just like to know what other have in their motors so i can get a general idea of what i need for my motor.
