Default Turbo or S/C for 6.2L? Questions...

I got a new 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 with 6.2l on order... I am wanting to eventually go FI... Starting out I am looking at getting ~450-500rwhp on all stock components, but want the system to be able to grow to pump out 800-1000rwhp... This truck will be in shows.

Should I go with:

1) Supercharger? If so which one? Why?

2) Turbo (I am wanting twins, not single). Why?

I am leaning towards twin turbos. I had a single turbo lightning that put out 600rwhp on the stock bottom end and tranny.. that thing was a blast. It had a bit of lag tho... that is why I am leaning towards twins on this monster 6.2l.

If I went twins I am thinking of going with Master power T-61's w/ .70A/R.. Good size?

If I went with a single I was thinking of a T-70 w/ .96A/R...Good size?

This truck will see shows like I said and will be ran at the track a couple times a year... I want as good as gas mileage as I can get, but not too concerned.

Thanks for the help!

1) I'm not a supercharger guy so I don't know what would be good for you. The guys on this site seem to really like the Magna Charger TVS superchargers though. That's where I'd start looking.

2) I personally would go with a single. There are very few guys on this site running twins. A single could easily get the job done for you. Plus there are a couple site sponsors that specialize in single kits including; KBRacing and Trick. Just some food for though.

A T-70 on a 6.2 would probably spool up almost instantly. A guy on another forum that I'm on has a G8 with a 6.2 and a T-70 and it spools stupid fast. However I'm not sure a 70 will get your numbers up to the goal you have set. I'd look into a 76mm turbo or maybe even an 88mm.

I'm just getting into the turbo game so I'm not an authority on the subject by any stretch of the imagination. Just letting you know!

Single Turbo gets my vote.
with a supercharger your going to need a CAI and headers...
a good turbo kit is a total package:
most of the time the filter goes right on the turbo so no need for CAI
Dont need headers just exhaust to run after the down pipe.
and for a 376 i would say a 76mm with a .96 A/r would spool quick and make power till you let off....
70mm would spool almost instantly, but youd probably run out of turbo by 6200ish i would assume...
im no expert by far, this is just info iv learned in my time here..

edit: and superchargers r belt driven which can be a whole nother headache at big boost levels

Plus you are gonna have to get a belt setup that won't slip, which can be a pain in the ***.

I will be fabbing up my own kit...

I just dont like the unbalanced look of a single under the hood. But it might be the way to go. Is it possible to mount it in front of the motor or do you have to put it passenger side?

Ive already had a single and want to roll twins haha...

Some other info on the truck is 6-speed auto, 3.73, Ext Cab, Flex Fuel.

It seems that most turbo setups make the most power vs any other power adder, and leave room for improvement.

More than you will ever make, I have both a 04 SSR with a 122 super charger and a street car with a 66 b.b. turbo, They both drive great on the street and run good at the strip, The turbo car is a V6 and it night run in the 9's if I pushed it but runs mid to low 10's the SSR is 4880 lbs and run mid 11's and hopefully better in cool air, Guys I know that run turbos all run singles but one, One guy has a small block running E85 with a front mounted 106 and he makes over 1600 hp to the real wheels and runs 7.80's at 193 on drag radials, Car has full seats and full power, I would look into a pro charger to
