Btw:JUST GOT MY KIT TONIGHT!!! Its xmas time. I'm going to start build thread tomarrow. Finally!!
The problem is that just because your tuners "got you covered", doesn't mean your engine can handle the amount of boost it might climb to in an overboost situation. Even though fueling might be safe doesn't mean it can swallow 30psi without harm.

Here's my goal I'm trying to keep interior as stock as possible or limit the holes and cuts. Im aiming for that stock factory look or placement of anything I do to interior.

I agree with you and like I asked what is a must have and I think every one has said wide band as the must have. Now let's move on to the install. It's gear head heaven at my house right now...

If you want to get technical, you don't absolutely need any gauges. But if you are to get some, definitely wideband first and boost is a close second. If you get an electronic boost controller most should display boost so you don't need a separate boost gauge.

Fuel pressure is good as well, however a drop in FP will show as lean on the wideband. I have a pressure sensor on the rail so I can log it while tuning to ensure the pressure is staying up. Then when I'm not logging I just keep an eye on the wideband.

Oil temp is also good since the turbo is a nice oil heater.

Yeah in our trucks there arent a whole lot of places to put gauges besides the pillar....

You could make a custom new cluster and see how many gauges you can fit in it

Also check out this Display for it. I think it does everything but scratch your *** for you.

The problem with using wideband to find a drop in fuel pressure is, how do you know if it's the tune or the fuel press. I kept adding fuel to mine cause it looked like it was getting lean do to rpm and boost pressure. When actually my pump wasn't keeping up. Once the guage went in I could see it was a pressure issue.

Personally i cant stand my 3 pillar pod but i like knowing what is going on with my truck. Since i drive my truck everyday having the laptop in it to monitor crap would annoy the crap out of me. Given my personality not having all those gauges would make me worry. So i deal with the stupid pillar pod for simple comfort knowing **** is working.
