What about an over boost condition?

Both wideband and boost gauge are absolutely needed IMO

last time i checked our engines do not have EGT and fuel press sensors. some gm models do have fuel press but not what we are working with. hell we don't even have oil temp just water temp. you can only get accurate manifold press if you go to a 2 or 3 bar setup. other wise all you can read there is 1 bar which will not show you any boost.

Wideband and boost are the required ones.

I have wideband, intake boost, boost controller, turbo drive pressure, fuel pressure, oil temp, and egt

He asked what was absolutely necessary. Answer is a wideband oxygen sensor, and that's it and I stand by that.

If you are running a 1 bar MAP with FI then that's your own issue.

I do not like gauges, pillars, etc. too flashy. Also, with 600+ rwhp on the street, there is no time to be looking at gauges at WOT. Issues with overboost and fuel pressure will all manifest as air/fuel problems on the wideband in the acute setting. Although, even with those gauges present, by the time it takes your brain to compute that info, you've likely already blown your motor. Best bet is to built failsafes into your tune and make sure your setup is reliable.

Umm not really... I have all my high boost regions pretty rich. So if I ever do over boost, it stays on the rich side. If my truck goes to 25psi, its not necessarily going to show up on the wideband if your smart with your tuning. Plus my boost gauge has an overboost protection setting so if it ever reads over a certain psi, it starts blinking red and cuts boost linearly back down to the gate spring setting.

GMCTRK, I think you pretty much nailed it and hate clutter as well. So here's what I'm going to start with wide band and a boost gauge for now. I talked to my tuner and he made a comment as well on failsafes made up in tune and said "don't worry he's got me covered".
Btw:JUST GOT MY KIT TONIGHT!!! Its xmas time. I'm going to start build thread tomarrow. Finally!!
