Unless you plan on going for over 1000hp and purely as a drag truck, skip the T6.

My truck was more fun driving around town with the small T4 475, but was a monster with the big T6 once it lit off.

Mind you, I could still go 10.80s with the baby turbo, was just maxed out there.

Either way, you'll make way more power with the turbo over the blower, but the larger you go on the turbo the worse that lag is going to be.

I'm not sure a turbo is going to be at its best without loosening the converter just a bit because its not making nearly as much torque in that range. A 75 shot would take care of that as well. Personally I love the setup you've got unless you just have to go 10's with a 6000 lb truck.

Problem with the nitrous shot is you won't want to spray too low in the rpm range and the converter is so tight you won't get past that without a power adder doing work. The turbo won't do work down there without a few second delay.

Oh I still plan to do that with the blower. It may take a small shot, not sure yet. Back when I had iat issues it went 11.5 on the stock 6.0 at 14psi with a 15-20mph headwind.

I won't loosen the converter, I'll see how the blower is at full tilt on the new motor before I decide.

I've actually sprayed 150 @ 2000 rpm a bunch of times with no ill effects on a cast piston cammed 350. Torque at that rpm was a bit much! Risky and I know its def not recommended but hey, sometimes you just have to test the waters lol.

I know I have never owned a turbo... but I gotta be honest if I was doing it I would be going T6. I think most of you underestimate the power he will be making with the TVS this spring. The quote above is what sold me on that. Michael there are guys with a TVS and trucks that weigh more than yours do that have run 10.80's with a TVS2300, and the "fun factor" as it pertains to instant power can't be touched. If youre gonna swap power adders to reduce your power under the pedal, it sure as **** better get you over the 1000 HP mark.

Has anyone used Matchbot?

With this set up, it looks like an S480 would be just about perfect up until you get above 6500rpm. An 88 would breath a whole lot better up top. I would do the 80 with an 87mm turbine.

I have messed with matchbot, its pretty cool.

Having had both a decent turbo setup (1100hp) and a decent blower setup (650hp, 800 with sauce), the blower is certainly less maintenance and more fun to drive, at low speeds. There is a certain fun factor with the turbo though when it gets going and you are hanging on for dear life when you punch it at 80mph and it just doesnt stop pulling

Hell, I foot brake until the boost comes in and go. Who races from a idle? I know the blower guy can do it better from a idle. Just my 2 cents

Yea you're right about that. And I don't think it's racing he is concerned about. Just the quick stabs of the throttle on the street you'd have to "wait" for.
