Depends on quality and who you buy from.
A cheaper kit is 2000-2500 and likely has install issues that you'll have to correct.
Mid range kits are 3-5k from like trick turbo or the like. They are better quality and normally no huge complaints.
I think a turbo might help reduce your mileage if you keep your foot in it alot lol. But those 4.56 gears arent helping your cause right now, you'll have to change those up for sure.

Just remember that most of these kits do not come with injectors or a fuel pump.
You are going to want 60's or 80's for the power you want to put down and a larger fuel pump. I'd take your budget and add another $1,000-1,500 just incase.
Also if you have fab skills you could make some of the kit by yourself and just buy the main pieces.

How much would a 5.3 turbo setup go for? 400-500 hp is the goal.
