Tuning AFR & Spark Effects On Towing?

From: 30 Miles North of Atlanta
When a truck is setup to 6.9 to 7.0 PSI @ 11.8 to 12.5 AFR and a WOT 18.3 or so spark, how is the trucks towing power effected. Say a 24' boat with a 200 HP Outboard.
When or how can a tune take away from towing.

You are going to see some odd loads that probably would not be touched on a dyno tune, I know I did when I tuned my truck pulling an empty trailer, road tuning it. Keep an eye on the AFR and listen for any detonation. I'm assuming you are still using the MAF so it shouldn't be as much of a concern as with an SD tune.

One cool thing about pulling a my boat, which has a combined weight of about 3500 lbs, is how people are impressed that I can smoke my tires pulling a boat.
They don't stop to think that with almost no tongue weight (200 lbs), it has the same effect as a line lock on a dragster's front brakes, the ability to spin almost endlessly.

You should be fine as long as your IAT table is working well. Heat is the biggest issue when towing which will cause the KR*. A SD tune for what you're doing would only work if it were a 2 bar and tuned in with and without the trailer to cover all area's of the tune. Just make sure your IAT table is in full tune and you keep good fuel in it.
