I am kind of a newb when it comes to turbos. I came across a trade for a turbo kit with a s475 with a 1.32 ar. I know this turbo is not the greatest for my truck and I may try to trade it for a smaller turbo. My truck is a 08 gmc ecsb with a 5.3l non flex fuel. I have alot of questions that I could not answer by searching.
1) what fuel pump should I run(I was thinking a walbro 255 with a boost a pump)?
2)what size injectors do I need(maybe 60# or is that over kill)?
3)how much boost will I need(I have no idea)?
4)should I run meth?
5) what should I do with the dod (just turn it off)
6)what guages do you guys run besides boost and a wideband.

If any of my questions have already been answered in other threads please point me in the right direction. thanks

2) i have a set of 60's i will sell you for $275 and no they are not overkill
3) is your motor stock?
4) depends on the boost level.. but its only insurance
5) .....no clue i'm poor and have a 02

my motor is stock but I am gonna add arp rod bolts. are you the guy who sells the 60s that are a direct swap? I know what egt stands for but what does it tell you?

 

Your list sounds pretty good. What truck do you have rc, ex, cc? 2wd, 4wd?

-I would get rid of the dod.
-That turbo might work but you will need a big converter, or N20 to get it out of the hole. A T, or Tc76 might be a better choice.
-What about transmission mods?
-Traction?
-Tune?

 

Is it a turbo kit built for your truck? It seems like Trick was building one of these and there was a bit more work to be done. Unless he just wanted it to be unique....

It might be easier if it is Air/Water.

 

I got a kit done by trick for my 08 Gmc with a 5.3 I run 2 225 walbro pumps and 60lbs injectors.all that was done to the motor was a cam kit.I think you will need to turn the DOD off. for gauges I run Fuel press. Wband and boost gauge also have a lvl 7 trans from FLT. I am hopping to be in the 11 in a couple of months

well I guess I am gonna put the turbo up for trade. maybe someone wants to upgrade. I have a stock 4l60e but I want to get a 4l80e. for traction I am adding a trutrac, long bars and drag radials. I will either get a tune from vengeance racing, or a blackbear in person tune.
