Wow, that efan setup looks like a thinner profile than my stockers. Looks like one could mount a rather large framed hairdryer up front they wanted too... hehehe

how well is that small radiator gonna do with more power? mine would not keep my ls1 cool going 70mph down the interstate with no load on a 90* day. that was witha 160 stat. i swaped in the bigger rad and stock efans and it would stay at 170 with a/c on on a 90* day no problem.

No problems at all. @70mph you do not even need a fan, there is so much air coming through. We drove the truck around for 30min. and then sat still in the driveway with AC on hi no problems at the temp gauge never got over 200. and it was 93 yesterday.
Not sure what stat is in this truck, but I am beating its stock. LOL

We will see about temps once we start dyno'ing on Monday.
These fans pull alot of air, you can feel the air sucking in front of the grill...

WE also offer the shround for the larger core, but still use the 14" fans.

Dyno'ing and soon turbo hopefully this week....

I'm only seeing 2 relays, are you running them on "high" only?

Did you do just a drop in filter?
Also when you say fluids changed to syn. what all fluids does that include?
Also any chance you'd be willing to tell what type of fluids you used?

1 relay for each fan. When key is on fans are on. At this time I do not have a fan controller to slow the fans down or just run one fan.

K&N drop in air filter still stock box, no ram or fresh air yet.
Fluids where the engine, Mobil 1 10-30
Tranny Valvoline I believe
rear end was Lucas, which is not a full syn, but has additives.

The rearend had synthetic from GM but at 160K plus miles it was way over do for a change, and was freaking nasty. Almost as bad as the engine oil.

I do not beleive all will have the same results as we did. The truck was down on HP to start with. But shows what simple changes can do for overall output. I spent around 200.00 on the oil changes and filters, I did the labor myself.

that was my point. i thought my cooling fans weren't up to par for my ls1 swap when it first happened. then i relized that even going down the interstate at speed it was still overheating. the rad itself was just not up for the task of keeping it cool while pushing my big *** truck along.

What did you swap from.?
I will do some long distance hi speed type test tommorrow after the DYNO,, to see if there is any issues.... So far AC is nice and cold, and temps never go over 200. always just below..
Need to get a harness from Nelson so I can have the fans turning on and off, just like the OEM stuff.

Now what will be intersting is what happens once the turbo is on, and the IC...
Looking for a large heat exchanger, for the front...

it had a 4.8l in it. it ran fine and keep cool all the time with one large efan. even in arkansas 100+* heat. never had a problem. then in november i swaped in the ls1. keep cool all winter then into spring. one day i'm driving along when it was about 95 out maybe 90 and my truck starts to over heat. so i pulled over and the coolant was full and fan was working. so i thought well maybe its the fan. so i swap in two large fans from fal off of snakeeaters truck. which keep his motor cool. still nothing it would over heat even at speeds where you didn't need fans. but it only did it on days where it was about 90. so i bought the bigger rad and stock e-fans and the problem went away. oh and during all of this i had in the same 160 stat. all i'm saying is that there is a reason gm made the bigger radiator and why it got put in bigger trucks with bigger motors. stock they are great but there may be a problem AFTER you start really making power. with that same set up on a cool day say 80's it would heat up during a long wot run then cool back down after then hard run. its just a thought because it would suck to spend that kind of time and money on those fans and after a turbo or say a 6.0 swap and it not keep them cool. the price one the stock fans i not that much and the rads don't cost alot either.

just my $.02

for high and low you'll need 3 relays, just one more than what you currently have, and a few more wires. You can run them off the ingition, for the low speed just like you already have. Or on the side of the drivers side, there's a switched positve.

Search my posts, I did a thread about running your own fans with a manual switch for high and low.

3 relays, one fuse, and one 2 way manual switch. Shoot me a PM if you can't find it.
