It is,

It is not including the front end being completely rebuilt nor is it including the new rack/pinion I had to have put in (also replaced the power steering lines).

When I had the 4.10's put in, the rear end was rebuilt, not including that either. Or the longtubes,

It's probably closer to 30k realistically. When the wife is done with school, I'm going to turbo this one and get me a daily beater. Probably a quadcab.

was going to turn over the engine today to prime the oiling system but just get a loud click or pop sound. Sounds electrical. I have the drive belt off the injectors disconnected and the plugs out. Any ideas on what I may have missed? Double checked the harness and cant find anything left unplugged. Battery is charged and good.

Are you sure the battery is good? All the big grounds connected?

The battery is good I put a jumper on it any way and still not turning over. All lights work. Its on a charger now just to make sure.
The only large grounds I know of is from the pass front head to the batt. The other is driver rear head to the firewall next to hood ground. Is there another somewhere I'm missing?

with the battery charging the starter is now engaging or running but not turning the engine. Will have to google it and see what I did wrong.

Theres not a factory one on the front of the passenger head. Big ones are at the back of the engine, next to the cam sensor, and at the driver side middle of the block behind the power steering pump.

I removed the starter and bench tested it. Checked out ok. Put starter back and tried again same thing. Luckily GM as the auto start when you turn the key (keeps cranking for a few seconds) so I turned the key ran out and looked at the crank pulley and sure enough its spinning. So I am just an idiot and this is how an engine without spark plugs, belt, and injectors hooked up sounds. What a waste of time that was.

How much cranking will it take to prime the system? will my oil pressure gauge show pressure just cranking or no?

Man what an ordeal! Hope you have better luck with the new motor. I've had the typical hiccups with any turbocharged setup but all in all it's been a lot of fun. I overbuilt from the get-go and went with a trusted tuner, although certainly not cheap. Looking forward to hearing your impressions when you finally go boosted. What trans are you running btw? Any chance you can run better fuel like E85? I made the decision right from the get-go that I wasn't going to f*ck with pump gas, and I didn't want to bother with meth for a DD. I am running a fat/low timing tune with E85 to give myself a serious cushion since it's my daily.

Check your power steering pump brace where it bolts to the block, or your a/c compressor bracket behind the compressor itself.

The only leftovers I have not bad I guess for first time

Hopefully I will have the truck running this week. Extremely nervous about it!
Including the price of the kit and all my troubles I now have about $9500 invested in adding a turbo to my truck
