I dont know if you can disable TC. was just wondering if it constantly being activated would cause somthing to wear out prematurely.

Definitely be granny driving most of the time but he did ask me to drive it all week and take notes of everything it does so he can finish the tune in one shot.

Your MAF has 5 wires.... And the two tan ones on the end are the IAT intake air temp wires.... Your IAT is built into your MAF

I guess diffrent tuners do things diffrent?.... Because I'm still running my factory map sensor, but I did change my MAF to the ls3/7 card style...

My TC is perminantly disabled..... Truck did it all on its own at some point?.... Never really cared to see why, I think they install that stuff for high school girl drivers or something? You've graduated to a turbo truck, no need for it now!

Listen....you can run boost with stock map but when logging it wont read past 120kpa no matter what...switching to a zr1 map will allow you to read boost in scanner

The map in this case has no effect on tune

The plug for the Maf has a total of 5 wires. 3 are for the maf and 2 are for IAT

So is this a good or bad thing? What are the advantages of being able to read boost in a scanner?

I'm fully aware of this, That's why I posted my answer.... I didn't think "crashmymax" was aware of what you were trying to explain to him...

Must not have made it clear how i was posting it sorry. I was only looking for a 3 bar map for dash logic. It will be my boost gauge but takes all its readings from the existing sensors. I believe are stock map can only read somewhere around 3 to 7 psi so i need a 2 or 3 bar map since i am currently running 10psi. Thanks for all the help guys

thats good to know i just installed the vette MAP so if i get a reading of 4psi or higher i will know it's working. Don't want to go over 4-5psi since truck is not running very good. I wonder if putting the new MAF has made run worse since it was tuned with a non working MAF.

I was thinking of swapping the old one back in and seeing how it runs.

So just to confirm. Going to a 2 or 3 bar in an NNBS doesn't require a retune? I might go ahead and do this in prep for the turbo.

I am not sure if it does or not. Hopefully George C does. My redneck test is to go drive it and see if i get readings over 4psi this would lead me to believe its working knowing the factory MAP can only read 3psi ish.
