Default Time to cam the radix 5.3, suggestions...

Im pretty sure I want to go with the LPE GT2-3, 207/220 .581/.587 118.5cl.

I live in Cali, so have to be careful about smog. I will not be upgrading to a higher stall, currently stalled at 2000 rpm.

It seems like the general consesus is that the radix likes higher exhaust duration and close to stock intake duration. Idling like stock is not a bad characteristic for a radix cam.

What about the GT7 cam, 208/230 .554/.556 121 cl ?

I know Vinci has more aggresive cams, but 03gmc has not had favoravle results with his cam and rocker arm package. Not to mention it is more expensive.

Any thoughts or opinions???

I do, just forgot to put them in my sig. I know the gt2-3 is a proven performer, just seeing if there is something that has netted better results.

Sig fixed by the way.

LPE told me to run the GT7 it would be better to have a very free flowing exhaust. Otherwise the gt2-3 was a better choice. Both idle near stock.

I had the compcam 212/218 .557/.562 114° and worked amazing without a stall.
Idle was almost like stock.

But you have a 6.o, I wonder how that changes things. I have a custom header pipe coming from oxidizer/Richard. 2.5" mandrel bent stainless steel piping with metallic cats flowing into an x, so I think my exhaust will flow well enough. Richard said that the set up will flow 500+ cfm per side, I think.

What cam did you end up going with?

When I did my 6L swap I put in a Vinci 062 cam. 210/218 551/551 (52*) 112lsa it does NOT idle near stock power from 1900-6000rpm. I haven't gotten the tune worked out but the TQ right now is sweet

Sounds like your a candidate for the GT7 then

As far as my cam selection goes, I've not made that decision yet.

Any dyno or track time improvements with cam swap? Any loss in boost?

The intake and exhaust duration are quite close to the GT2-3 cam, however the lsa is quite different. I wonder how the lsa differential affects hp and tq?
