As far as my cam selection goes, I've not made that decision yet.
Im going to call Lingenfelter tomorrow and see what they suggest. Will post back tomorrow.

Just a bit confused on whether to go with a proven performer or try something new. A cam swap is time intensive and/or costly if done by a mechanic.

My cam 210/218 551/551 overlap 52*112lsa POWER RANGE 1900 TO 6000

Other cam 210/218 551/551 overlap 48* 116lsa POWER RANGE 1500 TO 5800

I'm not sure of the GT2-3 cam specs but it looks as is if the higher lsa pushes the powerband down. Not sure if the over lap play into that.
Check out http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...s%20truck.html They have a good breakdown of specs and powerbands.

I would ask Flyer. I believe that he has the fastest time with a radix'd 5.3liter. He should be able to point you in the right direction

I don't have any dyno or track numbers (by the time I went to the track I also added the 2.90 pulley so it won't be any accurate info on the cam) but I can assure you it was pretty quick with that cam, power from 2500 rpm and up.

The truck lost 1.5psi but the was faster, pulled a lot harder.

The other cam i tried was a 222/226 .562/.568 115° lots of power but all of it at high rpms and the idle was very choppy, too big for the 5.3L i guess, i really like the 212/218 high lift better.

Good luck with your cam choice.

Wasn't his cam the Comp 216/220 on a 115 LSA.

Generally for a boosted application you'd want more duration on the exhaust, and a higher LSA to help bleed off cylinder pressure.

Just spoke with tech support from Lingenfelter and they recommend the gt 7 (210/230 on 121lsa) as it is there cam of choice for the magnacharger. They said they average about 20-30hp with this cam.

Brian/Blownchevy went with the the gt2-3 cam and got 44rwhp. specs are 207/220 on a 118.5lsa.

I guess I have more research to do...

Any suggestions???

Im sure Brian had good rationale on going with this cam. I just wish I knew what it was. If the gt 7 was a better cam, i think brian would have went with it.

I plan to ask oxidizer or crash dummy to tune it when the cam swap is complete. Drive down to socal, get my truck tuned and go to a private track day with all you socal guys. I was hoping for sometime in the spring.

Gotta make this cam choice first though..
