This truck still has some mile stones to hit . I bet when you get in the 9's, it will go deep nines the first time out after your rebuild. What heads are you putting back on?

How much power has this truck put down on a dyno

That what I was aiming for when I melted the head, but wanted to get a solid run down the track first before I worked on the launch, and well we know how that went...

Its not really a rebuild...I have the turbo fixed, new head gaskets, some better studs, had the had welded up and surfaced and its almost back together. Heads are my same stage2 L92s from WCCH.

It put down 820 on a dyno, but a friend of mine did a back to back against that one and a different dyno and the same one I went on was about 25% lower...so, it should actually dyno about 1100 which is what my track times put it as. Im not real concerned with dnyo numbers though.

Sure, but that requires machining of the block for the reciever groove which means dealing with freight shipping and machine shops...no thanks. I talked to several people with way more experience than me (Brian at LME, Richard at WCCH, etc.) and they both agree I dont need orings, I just need to keep detonation out of it. I would much rather blow a headgasket and melt a head and give the pressure somewhere to go versus melting a piston. The headstuds I got are the CA625 ones that have a 100ftlb torque spec, something like 190,000psi tensile strength. The problem is not the heads being weak or gaskets not good enough...if it detonates its going to push water no matter what. Keep in mind this is just with a little 82mm turbo and I dont plan on changing that.

While we are on the subject, here is the head damage:Name: IMG_3806Custom_zps93da0b05.jpg

And the repair by the same guy that did my turbo pipes:

Build some brackets for them and you'll be fine. Kyle's doing something similar I think...
