ok thanks. could I use the springs an retainers from the 862s on the 317s? the valves won't work will they? will I be ok on stock compression safety wise?

Yes, the springs and retainers will work fine on the 317's. A machine shop could fit the valves for you, but I wouldn't mess with it. Have them checked out at a machine shop before you put them on though if you haven't already. You will be good to go compression wise with the 317's, and will be able to run more than 7lbs if you want.

using a thicker gasket will only increase your chance of detination as the piston to head quench area becomes to big with a flat top piston

60 lbs inj walbaro intank fule pump and a good tuner u should be able 10lbs no problem that is what i had running on mine for three years
