Default t-74 on stock transmission

I am getting a turbo kit bulit for my CC and when I went to change my trans out I ran into problems with the splines on the back shaft not matching. So, that leads my to my next question. Will a stock 4l80e hold up under 10lbs of boost??? I know if this is more a tranny question, but it involved a turbo install. Install was suppost to start today. Pleaseeeeee helpppp!!!

Put in a shift kit. I believe Parish ran a stock (junkyard even) 80E with only a shift kit for an entire season with around 900hp.

besides a shift kit i think it is important to make sure you have the line presure turned up at part throttle. with a turbo it is easy to get a ton of tq at just 40% throttle if the load is there and the line presure might be turned down prety low at that point with the stock tune.

not far at all had to fight tranny all day!!! Put converter in and it didn't match up with flywheel so had to pull it out again. All this on the floor with jacks. Took off flywheel and drilled it out to fit now I'm driving it stalls ok. Monday I'm taking it to Boost Addictions a shop in Brunswick, GA to get my heads on and he's also fabing the kit should take about a week and a half. Trying for 10 lbs of boost but with stock trans maybe less. Got a FLT lvl5 but for now does work with my transfercase. I will post pics when build starts.

Cool, it is always something isn't it. I can't imagine an install going with NO problems. I would expect to get hit by lightning or something. Definitely get some pics of the build.

i don't understand. if you have a 80e in there now then why won't another 80e work? doesn't make since. aren't all the 80e's 32 spline? i know they make a 27 spline output that you can put in there. but they didn't ever come with these stock in our trucks did they?

*edit* found the thread, now i understand.

The 4wd 80E has a different output shaft than the 2wd. The shaft is shorter, and the splines go about 1/2'' farther up the shaft. T case also has a larger input hub. You can also go the custom 27 spline route, but then you have to run the 1/2 ton input hub.

Tranny was built for an AWD with a T-case but now I'm trying to put it in a 4x4 and shafts are different. I thought being that motors were both 6.0s the trans would work and the fact mine was an 80 already, but I got ahead of myself as usual. So, basically what he said^^^^^
