Default STS with towing/offroading

How does it perform towing?

Does it get messed up if you go through mud or water?

Just don't get the air filter in the water.

As for towing, it works great, make sure the a/f ratio is nice and rich.

It would be great if they could design a filter for those that fits between the bed and cab.
I Want a turbo on mine too but the only disadvantage i could think of is that on the STS setup i'd get mud and water in the filter. Easiest solution to me would be to mount the kit as far forward to the bed as you can and bring the filter up thru the bottom of the bed so it will have clean air. And if you put alot of stuff back there just build an air box for it.

should work right?

One other thing I just thought of that you might want to know about that i'm curious about myself.
Will it hurt the turbo to get fully submerged in water if you back a boat off into the lake? With the filter out of water.

I play on wet roads whenever I can. I have a filter sock on my k&n . I have never had a problem. I have seen some lifted trucks with a filter in the bed. For normal driving on a rainy road there is no need to go to that extreme.

Do you already have one or thinking about it? Have you looked into a Front mount setup like Trick performance??

If you have already went LT's, go look for a deal on a radix. 98% of the population needs no more power than one can provide. Turbos are for power obsessed thrill junkies that would stay up all night before a race just to add 17 HP.

I lauch my boat all the time with me STS truck, but I NEVER EVER let the turbo touch the water, it is far enough forward that you should beable to launch a boat with-out getting the turbo wet. but if the turbo is under water and the engine dies................. well I don't really know but it wont be good..

I made the same mistake. Sold the headers to a buddy and bought the Turbo.
