Default STS owners that run mufflers...

Since i took off my cats the exhaust is too loud and unrefined for my taste. So i bought a 3 inch Magnaflow muffler and a cutout. After taking a good look under the truck though the only option i see for the exhaust is to run it into the bed. If i go under the axle it'll be way too close to the ground and if i go over the axle it would slam the exhaust pipe all the time.

Do any of you have it ran like this or have any other ideas? btw, its a 4/6 drop that i've got on it.

This is what i did, it isn't super pretty, but it got the job done and gave me a cutout.

Thats not enough muffler. Get a 4" straight through design. I used a 3" dynomax bullet and lost 1/2 lb boost and some spool time . I want to redo mine with a 4 incher. It is tight under there. Lose the spare, I did.

My problem is that i can't get the exhaust pipe past my rear axle. As far as the muffler, im not real worried about it on the street and the cutout is for the track.

I have a 14" flo-pro dual 2.5" in/ single 2.5" out on mine in front of the turbo. According to the G-Tech I gained .1 in the 1/4. Sounds good but I still have my cats as well. The muffler did not seem to reduce the flow or spool up at all.

I want to put the muffler behind the turbo so that i can have the cutout open for the track, and when i just want to be loud. I'm going to be doing this on saturday and i'll post up some pics when im finished as long as you promise not to laugh at my welding skills. Im going to tuck it into the corner of the bed and paint it all black so it blends in some.

I have a Flowmaster in front of the turbo and a 5" tail pipe. I love the sound of the truck, its quiet inside the truck but loud outside. All the windows rattle in my house when I pull up. LOL

Not if the turbo itself is the most restriction in the exhaust system. The flo-pro is a heavy wall aluminized muffler and that might help hold some heat in the exhaust as well.
