How much does a Muffler infront of the turbo help?
Ive been doin some lookin. And it looks like thats about the only place im goin to have to put one..

I have a Magnaflow 6" round Straight thru. Might put a small bullet behind the turbo also.. depends on how loud it is.

I got my muffler on this weekend, ended up going over the axle with it because a local exhaust shop said they could do it. Its a oval 3"in, 3"out magnaflow. It has no baffles at all, you can look straight through it but its really quiet but still has a nice low tone to it. I can't hear the turbo sound anymore either which is nice. The trusty butt dyno though says that i lost a bit of power, nothing major though.

If you are having trouble getting up and over the axle, move the turbo forward 6 inches or so.

I ran mine up and over the axle, but put the pipe pretty close to the bed and mounted the muffler up that high as well (my muffler ended up being almost directly over the axle, but I used a series 10 race muffler which is small and flat).

As others are mentioning, using a really free flowing muffler in front of the turbo is a better option -- no cut out needed. It won't hurt performance as long as it doesn't cause a big drop in exh flow (muffler in vs muffler out).

I think im goin to try to put mine infront of the turbo.
This is my Muffler

I dont see how it could pose a problem, its a straight through and no chance of anything coming loose inside of it.
Just wondering if there was any change in "Tone" or "Loudness" when comparing the Infront of Turbo Muffler vs Rear of Turbo.....

Thanks guys!!
Love the truck Wilde!!!
