Default Sts Owners

Hello Everyone, I'll be purchasing the STS within a few months. I want to know how many STS owners are running stock internals and at what safe psi?

What about the tranny and rear end? I have a 04 Denali XL 6.0L.

Richard

It's a Denali XL....like a Suburban? That's a big *** truck to get running 13's. I'm not saying its not possible, but that would be awesome to see. I know there are guys here that are running +12psi on stock internals or at the most rod bolts.

Go straight for an upgraded turbo though, not the standard one with the kit, and you'll obviously need a turbo friendly cam and a custom tune to get you there. You WILL need the injectors IC and fuel pump like you stated. A BOV will be needed at boost levels that high, and a boost controller wouldn't hurt. You'll need a torque converter too, to match the cam and to get the ET.

I have been running 12 psi on stock internals since September with a non-intercooled Vortech so would assume you should be able to do the same, although I am probably out on the edge of the stock internals....

I just started seeing 150-160* IAT's @ WOT, but that's because it's been about 106-107* out. After a WOT run though, the IAT's won't drop, because everything is totally heat soaked. But before that.....

Hehe, I have a big *** truck running low XX's. 6000 lb shoebox. My buddy in Orlando is running about 75 hp less on his AV and ran a 13.6 @ 101. He was running a Radix @ 8 psi with no stall at the time.....
