Default sts meth pump question

The pressure switch on top of the pump...does it have to be hooked up? I'm want to activate the pump via a HOBBS switch but didn't know how that was going to affect my idea

I don't think those wires to the top of the pump need to be connected. As far as I can tell they are only used to connect to a light to warn of low pump pressure. It might be required if your kit has a progressive control. In my instructions it is listed as an optional "Low System Pressure" light.

The switch closes at 40 psi. A have a red LED on my dash that stays lit below 40psi and also keeps the wastegate at low boost if I run out of meth or the pump dies.

That pressure swith on the top of the pump is also to tell you if the pump has failed if I'm not mistaken. I know that when my first pump failed and the turbo filled with oil, my oil alarm went off for some reason. That caused me to look a little closer.

That is the oil return pump from the turbo to the engine that you are describing not the pump in the methanol injection kit.

You are correct in the sense that, in the methanol pump, it does warn of low pressure and pump failure would be low pressure and the light should come on if it is connected. I think if Dan wants to run the pump from a HOBBS switch he can connect the wires to the top of the pump or not. It is up to him to decide if its function has value to him.
