i was going to do this when i had my truck. one thing different though, i was going to put it in my tool box and put a 4" hole on both side of the box by the bed sides. that way it would stay dry and be able to breath nice. my tool box was a floor mount kind not a rail mount.

Thanks Tim! Now I will be less worried about puddles and standing water like our road when it floods. The car wash was the biggest problem and it is nice to be able to use it in the winter.

That's what the hole is for to drain the water out.....LOL.
I have a tonneau cover so water should not be a problem.

I made this lil sheild around my filter and ive never had a problem even in the bad storms here
I have got the MAF wet twice on the road and twice at the car wash. I have a STS shield and it did seem to be working. Like I said I must be restless...LOL

I think if i go turbo's later i'ma get front mount. I like the concept of Remote mounted, but i'm not afraid to drive thru water thats almost to my bumper. With videos to prove it.

Some areas around here get a lot of high water and Remote mount just wouldn't be the best choice.
My tonneau cover should keep the filter dry. The front mount was not an option when I bought the STS at least not on EBAY it wasn't. Go with whatever you are most comfortable with. I have had good luck with the STS!

Nice work though, wonder how that sounds....
Thanks......I'll let you know when I get a chance to give it a run...

I was thinking of using a plastic milk crate when I have a load or just unbolt it
and but it back on the turbo....will only take a minute to do....

On a dry day I can open my tonneau cover and the filter will be in the high pressure area at the front of the box.....
