The flange on my log manifold is beginning to warp. I read in one of those highly recommended turbo books that it's a good idea to cut the flange in the middle to allow for expansion and contraction. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I was thinking about cutting it like the stock manifolds are. It looks to me like the bolt pattern was designed to allow something like this, since there are two bolts in the middle.

I drill all the holes to 13/32 or so. Give it plenty of room to move around. SS has a very high expansion rate when compared to aluminum and steel. That's why manifolds built out of thiner SS tend to crack a lot.
