Default SC a high mileage 5.3?

What is the consensus on supercharging a higher mileage engine (say 150K +)? Could it be done without a lot of engine work (i.e. oil pump, head gaskets, piston rings), especially if the engine is in good shape?

If it doesn't burn oil, and a compression test shows good compression, go for it!
