I still have the heads. They have been collecting dust for over a year.
I'll be using the stock GM gaskets. The felpro gaskets I had would raise compression.
I did remove the front driveshaft, but the transfer case was still spinning the front output. I can't say if it eats up more power than a normal 4wd case, but its got to eat more power than a 2wd setup, especially since I've smoked the internal clutch.

don't worry, the pain is coming
Haven't bought any yet but I think I'm going to use GM as well, probably the most cost effective anyway.
