Default Turbo and MAF

So after doing a lot of research on fabbing my own turbo, i have not seen too many references of where the MAF Sensor is placed. Do we even use the stock one? Any insight would be a great help.

I think a few people are running maf less, (SD) but I'm not sure if they still use the maf sensor. You are really just limited on the lenght of the wires going to the maf, but I think it would be best placed after the intercooler, and in the longest strait section of pipe. but thats just a guess.
