Starting to seem like more trouble than it's worth. Be nice to keep the AC and also not have to worry about plug wires touching the exhaust.
Vanilla, is there something different about the Impala SS manifolds that make them work better or clear where the trucks don't?
I'll try and find a pic of them.

This ones a little better, still can't see the flange.
Wish I could see the manifolds on the LS2 engine.

That is how Kurt's truck from Wheel 2 Wheel is done and that thing makes some awsome power and seemed to be a very reliable setup considering that he drives it pretty much every day. Wheel 2 Wheel obviously being one of the top names in building cool stuff that actually performs as good as it looks. They know what they're doing and it shows. If I decided to do a turbo on my truck that's how I'd do it. If you go to Wheel 2 Wheel's website you can see the pic's and video.

I thought it would clear. Here are some pics of 8ALTNG's truck. It looks real close, and there's a heatshield on it, but I wonder if that's enough. Maybe he'll chime in and tell us more.

So you take the "right" or rear manifold and put it on the passenger side upside down. Then you take the "left" or front manifold and put it on the driver's side up side down. Then build a crossover tube that goes down and out of the way like 8ALTNG's. Then a custom flange/plate to adapt the turbo to manifold. Here are some pics.

When I tried to find a way to use stockers pointing forward, it hit the ps pump. I don't have a dummy motor to go try it on anymore. Didn't mess with it to much. Maybe he uses a car manifold off something? IDK.

my buddy built his own turbo set up in the same location as how you want to do it. He had the kit almost complete (got the 60 lb injectors in and just had to tune it) when he accidently fed the motor 25 + psi (lots of twisted rods). It's for sale if you are interested, here are the pics of it that I have (clicking on the pic will take you to webshots where there is more pics)

I just checked out the pictures of your buddy's kit. Wow. I can appreciate the work involved in the kit he built. He has lots of skill.

thanks but the biggest problem with the kit is he paid shops/friends to make it ($1500 alone for the turbo mount ) . He has huge money in it, but is selling it for a quarter of what he has in it
