I believed ya! That's the exact belt I need for the new 2.8 pulley I'm installing...are the Gatorbacks prefered over the Gates?

I've always used a Gatorback because I think they are less likely to slip. Magnacharger ships with a Gates belt because they believe the Gates are stronger. Just personal preference. Ive run a Gatorback for 6 months and never had an issue. Blown Chevy says he has used Gatorback and they have stretched or gotten chewed up and broke. Up to you I guess. I just keep a spare in the truck. My Gatorback was $35 the gates are probably cheaper, like $20

Part no. on mine: Gates K061120

Looks like Magnacharger shipped mine with a 112" Gates belt for a 3.1" pulley.

I think you can move down about an inch from what they ship stock before it will be too short. You just have to be aware of how far your moving the belt tensioner and if your pulling too hard on the other pulleys. The Alt has a history of crapping out bearings if the belt is too tight. Gotta weigh slippage over too much tension. Its an art

Just thought I'd add to this thread.

I am running a 111.5" dayco belt on my LQ9 6.0L with a 3.0" pulley on the radix. Doesn't look like any belt slip with this combo so far for me.

RISE DEAD THREAD RISE!!!!

Anyway, it's been awhile and there have been lots of changes. So I'd like to update this thread to include:
TVS1900/2300
---Jackshaft
---Nose drive
Any belt driven SC
8/10 rib belts
Underdrive/Overdrive balancers

So if you have an 8-rib 2300 with a x.x" front pulley, IW balancer etc etc...post up. Belt part number and length are needed as well.

I'll see if I can get a MOD to rename this thread so it's more search firendly. "Radix TVS Belt length info 6 8 10 rib" maybe?
