Default Quick oil feed line question

I admit I dont know alot about the genIII oil system so I just want to make sure this will work before I continue.

I plan on drilling and tapping the small unused adapter thing (or whatever you call it) with a 1/8" npt thread and using a ~3/16 feed line to the turbo. I remember hearing somewhere others where using this to feed their turbos.

By the way, what was this supposed to do from the factory?

pics of what I am talking about....

Yes, you can tap that out... be careful... it has a tendancy to crack. That is where I get my oil. When that part is drilled / tapped at the factory it is for vehicles with engine oil temp sensing option.

That is where the adapter for the oil cooler on my truck is mounted. I just drilled the bottom of the adapter for the fitting to supply oil to my turbo per STS instructions.

Yep thats the place where to get oil from. The purpose of that part is to get pressured oil back to the engine. Trucks that have oil coolers would have a block with tubes running up to the front for the oil cooler.
Make sure you clean it good after tapping.
