Default Pulley change....how to?

Installed a MP 112 on my F150 a while back............still trying to get a good tune.............but that's another story. I would like to install a smaller pulley for a little more boost. It came with a 3.00 pulley. My installer guy tried to pull the pulley but couldn't get it off. He said he was afraid of splitting the shaft. So..............how in the world do you pull one of these things?

3 Jaw puller....You are asking for trouble going over the set boost level on an F-150.

Judicious use of the gas ax is in order here. Just kidding. Try the three jaw puller when the engine is warm. Maybe cool the input shaft on the blower a little with anything cold (freon, brake cleaner, etc). If that doesn't work, go back to the gas ax. Seriously this time. Just warm the pulley a little. It shouldn't be that hard to get it loose.

What kind of trouble BlownChevy? Trouble is something I don't need with this truck.
Seems everyone is out for a little more boost. Why can't the F150 handle more than 5#?

Pulley boys has a puller for your application. The 112 on my friends Lighting has a press fit pulley while the 112 on my chevy has a keyed pulley. It is going to take more than the 3 jaw to pull the pulley, especially if you want to be able to reuse the old pulley.

Thanks BlownHD. The pulley on my 112 is a press fit also. I can't see a key on the front of the pulley. I guess they do that to make them more difficult to get off or something.
I might just have to live with 5# of boost if increasing boost will cause more troubles than it is worth. I'm still interested as to why an F150 can't handle 6 to 7 lbs of boost.
