Default project "cadzilla"

Thats what the tuners at the shop are calling my cadillac now. haha. So here's the problem. They have been trying to work out my traction control and were makin some full throttle passes. Apparently they shredded my rear cog drive belt. And they have been moving the shift points down to 5700 and it still goes up to 6 grand. They think its the TC. I think that it cant shift fast enough when the boost comes on.

SO. First one is Has anyone shredded their cog? and where could I get one?

Second. Should I be worried about my converter? or is this just a beast and thats the soonest it shifts?

wat kind of work has been done to the transmission? is it still a 4l65e in there? the torque converter shouldnt affect shifting like that. you should have a higher stall converter with that cam anyway but all that will do is take some load off the motor and give you some rpms on the back side of the shift - wont fall back as far. if the tranny is stock, your overpowering the shifts. it is starting to shift where you want it to but slips a few hundred rpms before it can complete it. hope this gives you something to think about

thats interesting. i dont have much experience with the 4l80e but i know its all clutch to clutch shifting. none of the old bands and servos like the 4l60e. good luck with it. sounds like a beast

Check to see if the pcm is commanding the trans to shift at the requested rpm.
If it is, then the trans is slipping.
If not, then try lowering the shift points to 5500rpms, and use the normal and wot shift speeds to shift the trans by mph instead.

If your blowing the tires off it'll never shift when its supposed to. My experience anyway.
