Default Procharger vs magnacharger

I have heard both good and bad things about both of these kits offered by both of these companies. Eventually i will upgrade to a bigger engine but for now i want to put a forced induction until then. i have an 02 Chevy Silverado 4.8l 1500 2wd lifted. I was looking at both kits with the intercooler but which is the best kit to go with?

Depends on what your after..The pro charger has the ability to make more power in the long run than the Radix..BUUT the Radix is a complete kit that is a rather easy install that makes good power.

The answer to this question depends on your driving habits. If you race a lot and spend a considerable amount of time in the 3500 to 6000 RPM range, then you will likely appreciate a centrifugal blower like the Procharger.

However, if you spend most of your time in the 1000 to 3500 RPM range, a centrifugal would be wasted on you, as they don't build power until higher RPM. A twin-screw or modified roots like Magnuson's MP or TVS offerings would be best for you.

This is how I made my decision - I monitored my driving habits for a week, and discovered that I did very little high-RPM driving. This made my decision a no-brainer....MP112 it was. If I was making my decision today, I'd get a TVS 1900.

All are good. Do lots of research with the search button.
Positive Displacement superchargers= great low rpm power. get your truck off the line faster without a stall change.
Procharger= easily upgradable to a larger unit for 1000. also lower iat's= more power in a higher rpm range. You will want a 3000+ stall to be happy with the power from a dig.

Go from a 112 to a 2300 for 1000 HP, have IAT's that are lower than the 112, and do it all with out any trouble at all. FYI, the TVS flows more just fine on the top....

Don't forget one little fact. You're trying to make a heavy truck go faster and be more fun to drive. It really needs to pull hard on the low end. A maggie is the way to go..... others need not apply. It's all there in the kit and it won't grenade your motor unless you get crazy with it. The Magnuson boys do a good job. Not saying the other kits aren't good, they're just a step or two behind.
