i have a 5.3 with the procharger p1sc kit and it has a fmu...i want to ditch the fmu and change the injectors so i can have the truck tuned the right way....i need to know what to do to remove the fmu?......recamondation for headers and injector brands would be great to...thanks...

get a set of the GM Marine 42-44# Multec injectors...finding someone with a set shouldn't be hard...check w/ 'blownchevy' to see if he has any more new sets left...'quicksilverado' has a set that he needs to swap out for his 60#'s...nudge him in that direction by waving some cash at him...about $250 should do it...
On the FMU, just disconnect the fuel line going into the FMU and the line from the FMU to the fuel rail...at the fuel rail...then connect the fuel line into the fuel rail, bypassing the FMU...your fuel rail should have a 1:1 regulator on it, so...remove the FMU...you can do this before you ever get injectors...I did...just make sure you have your tune ready for the injectors when installing them...

everyone says longtubes...
I have a set of Gibson shorties...going on 4yrs now...no problems...they bolt right up to the stock y-pipe...they sure made the converter swap this week alot easier too...
