A cam that is optimized for FI but still have lope. Im no cam expert, I know enough to be dangerous, but until today have been an N/A man so FI stuff hasnt been much of a concern.

It depends on the type of FI you are talking about, the cam that works well on a Rootes supercharger will differ a lot from the cam for a Turbo or Centrifical superchager.

For a turbo app.

I bought greentahoes sts kit.

Im wondering if I can still get hte same lope I get with the 237/242 112 cam in my 418 with an FI grind that will compliment a turbo. I love lope but wont give up performance for it.

Forget the lope. Go for the sleeper sound. I was running a stock 2000 f-body cam. Switched to a 04 GTO cam after a lifter seized up. My trucks sounds stock until I get on it and all hell breaks loose. They never know what hit em. No one picks on you either. They will think its just another truck.

I am thinking most of that lope comes from the amount of overlap. More overlap is not best for low rpm, so the engine has to lope. Turbo cams that I have seen run anywhere from 115lsa to 117lsa and have almost no lope. I am sure if you were to build for every last HP available there could be an advantage to tightening the lsa, it might strictly lend itself to high rpm though. Most turbo cams are reverse split, I don't know in what way that affects the lope? Basically I don't know, but that's my guess!

I have a custom Comp grind that I am debating to put in or not, if I remember right it is a 218 214 .520 .520 115. I would run 1.8 rockers with that cam so the specs would be slightly higher. Vinci can custom grind anything you want also.

I think with the large duration Im going to be going with for the cam that will be in teh 418 it is going to have to ahve a bit of lope since it will be solidly in the 240s.

I almost bought a cam from MightyMouse when I got the turbo. He was making over 800 rwhp 347 ci and the cam. Before he sent it out he checked it out and discovered it was a stock f-body cam. That sold me on what cam to use. Unless you are planning on making crazy power a stock cam will work just fine.

That is pretty huge duration, I bet it will sound mean even if it doens't lope!
