Well the cam that came in the 6L I got has a toasted lobe so I need to get a new cam anyway. Its hard to believe I wouldnt be leaving any power on teh table by not going with a "turbo" cam.

I already have a Nitrous Pro Flow plate system to go on the Vic Jr setup

It probably wont get used till it sits on top of the 418 that can handle it.

I would lean toward a reverse split with a relativly wide lsa regaurdless of what duration or lift you end up going with. The closer lsa cams in a turbo engine blow the exhaust pressure back into the intake during overlap, so that is something to avoid.

Sounds good, do you have a 2 piece timing cover? I will be paying close attention to the cam you end up with because I am still sorting out which one I will need

Nope single piece but pulling the crank pulley isnt a big deal. I have done many cam swaps so Im pretty good at it. Springs are the major PITA and i wont have to touch em. I can have the whole motor out in about 2 hours minus draining coolant, which isnt really something to brag about unfortunately

I agree with it's the overlap that causes the lope. I have a Gen1 with 12lbs boost on a Vortech. With a 232/232 112LSA 8* overlap, there is a slight lope. With a 244/244 112LSA 20* overlap, there's a big time lope and no brake boost. Despite what Desktop Dyno shows, I don't feel a great difference in the two cams. I have heard that with boost you don't get a great deal of benefit from large overlap because the boost blows out the spent exhaust pretty well with a small overlap. It seeems to be the case with these two cams. With the large overlap there's also a decrease in mileage, if that matters. Your cam is about in the middle with 15* overlap.

the ls6 551 lift at 117.5 is a good cam.
g2-3 with a litle higher lift at 118.5 is also a good cam.

i don't get looked at to much by law enforcemnet with my stock idol and sound
but everybody around me knows i have something serious under the hood when i turn it loose.

I think you may be able to get away with a 114 LSA which will give you some lope depending on the duration. I think for most applications, lope is going to be minimal, because you don't want the intake and exhaust valve to be open at the same time with a FI set up.
