Default Porting an Eaton

Thought you guys might be interested in seeing a port job on an Eaton M112. A significant difference can be seen since the old/new blowers are side by side:

Is that a Radix 112 or a standard Eaton 112 that has been ported? Definately alot nicer than the unported 112.

That's an M112 off of a Lightning, not the Radix's MP112.

there is absolutely no advantage to what has been done there.....Looks pretty and causes turbulance in the inlet. EATON spent millions of dollars and thousands of hours desiging that supercharger.....We have seen the result of the porting jobs in our re manufacturing dept, not a positive thing.

BTW the Magnuson 112 is better than what you are looking at (even the "porting" job)

I understand what you are saying, but then why do the Cobra guys see such nice gains with a good port? I know some guys have seen little gain, but with a "good" porting job some guys get at least a few tenths. And after seeing pictures of the MP Vs the regular M112 side by side the Magnuson is deffinetly a better looking piece.

LOL so cost was never a factor then ? Cause you guys sure didn't get everything out of the tunes you send out with your huffers I've seen gains on both the MP112 and the Radix from cleaning it up i.e.(light porting). And yes if its done poorly it will hurt performance and turn your case in to a large paper weight. The Radix will see smaller porting gains because of its more effiecent rear inlet.

A weak link in the Radix setup if the inlet track before the blower and the stock throttle body MAF assembly...

Yes, some port jobs are hack jobs... but not all. Apten was big into this awhile back. I have seen some of their work on the Lightning and Cobra head units. Nice work. $600ish and 30rwhp... documented time and time again. Maybe the turbulance creates power? j/k I would think if this was more hurtful than helpful... the Ford community would have been screaming a long time ago.

So what exactly is the "result" of porting an Eaton... as seen in your reman dept?

BTW, I have installed a few of your C5 and Radix kits... VERY well engineered... and IMO, a decent price for what you get.

Bill
