Or if I'm driving for along time it will run at 180 stop at a sign for awhile temp will be fine then once I take off it will spike then drop back down again. I don't have an oil cooler eather and head gaskets should be good motors one got 1000 miles on it sand drags are 15# and driving normal is none and it only does the stop sign thing sometimes I think it's cursed
Ok just noticed something. Aftermarket over flow tank.

Got any pics? Of this tank and how your coolant hoses are routed.
And what psi cap you have on there.
Could something as simple as a weak cap or hose routing.

I'm keeping the 160 stat and the tank is mounted on the top of the fan shroud on the passenger side and the hose comes straight out of the bottom and into the radiator and I had a 21# cap now I have a 14# but I don't think there is a noticeable difference. If I lifted a head it should overheat all the shouldn't it?

With the 34 in radiator can ic piping still be ran between the head lights and radiator or do you have to come up from the bottom

Shouldn't be a problem should be able to route the IC around the 34".

Might be a little tighter on an '02 though... I just took my IC piping underneath so I didn't have to cut a bunch of **** up.
