Default Opinions please

Should I be able to run 6lbs of boost with a "homemade" STS style kit without crazy tuning. I feel pretty confident that my 5.3 injectors will handle it. I have a LM7 2000 with alot of miles and Im thinking of trying this with a turbo I have hanging around. If you have an idea please chime in, Ive never messed with turbos.

Anything will work if you do it right. Injectors, pump, tune etc. are ultimately needed. Trick has a really cool low mount kit for sale at a good price.

Ehhh....I'm not sure the stock 5.3 injectors will handle 6 psi. Some cheap insurance would be to get a set of 42# marine injectors and either an auxiliary inline or replacement in-tank fuel pump. You'll have to have it tuned too...not sure what you mean by "crazy" tuning. Tuning is tuning.

As stated above, i would definently pick up some injectors and a fuel pump. I put a front mount on my 4.8 with 125k and it ran perfect. I'll have some 42# injectors for sale here pretty soon if you're still interested.

I have 5.3 and with my little cam 216/218 cam i pushing 91 IDC on stock injectors, so i would think you would have to up grade your fuel system to make that work.

Stock injectors are easy to max out with no boost let alone with boost. Upgrade the fuel system...
