How does On3 aim the wastegate dump? Is it just angled the same direction as the down pipe?

See its that stuff that would make me red flag the whole kit.

I only ever calculate mileage on freeway trips, on any builds I've done. My truck loaded with wheels and tires and other parts in the bed going up and down steep grades gets 12mpg freeway on E85, which is more than acceptable as e85 uses ~30% more fuel by volume than gasoline. I'm sure there are guys on here that are getting at least 18mpg freeway with their turbo trucks on gasoline.
mine gets 21 mpg on road trips running around 72 mph. NYS is a max of 65 mph. around town ~14-15 because I do burnouts and make turbo noises

If I could get close to that mileage that would be fantastic. Right now I get 10 mpg around town and 12 mpg on the highway. My atrocious mileage is mostly due to the 8 inches of lift and 35's though, so the numbers I'm seeing aren't too surprising.

The turbo is just going to make those numbers worse, then the transmission will explode.

Remove the lift and super heavy tires and you'll get back to the good mpg side of things. You just have way too much working against you.

And even though the on3 kit has it faults, minor stuff like that exhaust mismatch wouldn't really put me off that much, it's very fixable. It doesnt have to look pretty to make stupid power, just look at that matt hapel's stuff. He'll have 90 degree bends, jagged piping and it still makes power.

No it's a 90 degree bend that faces the front of the truck and dumps down by the ac compressor. I took it to a welder and got it welded into the down pipe though so I wouldn't have to hear it vent every time it opened.

I agree with you. The piping in the exhaust and the vented waste gate were my only two minor complaints. Mainly just because I wanted to get it out on right away and couldn't because I wanted to make it how I wanted it. But everything is on now. And I am happy with how it went. Pretty easy actually. For the kit it was just bolt on. But I had to make the electric fans fit on my truck with some cutting because I didn't want to get the bigger radiator to make it an easier instal. But got it done and hopefully have her tuned on Tuesday

There is no way my mileage could get any worse with a turbo kit. My driving style isn't going to change at all, I'll just have more power when I want to use it. I know my trans and rear end will be the weak points, so I'm definitely going to be running a low amount of boost and not thrashing the truck. Also I like the lift and wheel setup so those aren't going anywhere. I'm just looking to gain some mpg's to help dignify turboing my truck haha.

I've sold probable a half a dozen sets of hot pipe to guys who bought On3 kits and got tired of welding up the cracked manifolds all the time it that tells you anything. But that's my only experience with On3.
